Hello fellow readers! I came across a video on YouTube recently by Chapter Christine, and thought I'd join in the fun!
1 – Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
I mostly read on my couch. It's the quietest place most of the time, and the most comfortable.
2 – Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Both! I am subscribed to OwlCrate and I have collected quite a few bookmarks from them over the past year. But - I will use anything I can find, which usually means gum wrappers, receipts, and business cards.
3 – Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?
I definitely prefer to stop at the end of a chapter, but that rarely happens. I at least have to stop at the end of a paragraph.
4 – Do you eat or drink while reading?
I usually have a cup of coffee with me, or a glass of wine while reading. But I never EVER eat while reading. I don't want my book to get messy!
5 – Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
Well, I usually listen to audiobooks while I work, but the opposite is just entirely too distracting! I cannot listen to music or anything else while reading a physical copy of a book.
6 – One book at a time or several at once?
I'm guilty of reading multiple books at a time! I get bored too easily or too excited about a new book that just came out. So I have to start it immediately, even if that means starting it while in the middle of two or three other books.
7 – Reading at home or everywhere?
I will choose home over anywhere for reading-time, but will bring my book, Kindle, or iPad with me everywhere for convenience.
8 – Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently, unless I'm trying to understand something better and need to hear it out loud.
9 – Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
I never skip ahead! That just ruins the surprise!
10 – Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I miiiiight be guilty of breaking spines. If it's a special book by a favorite author or lent by a friend, I will treat it with care. But I enjoy folding the pages behind while reading a paperback - it's just so much easier to read that way!
11 – Do you write in your books?
I HATE this. I hate it even more that my teenage-self is guilty of this. I don't know - I guess I thought it was more of an "artistic" thing to do if I made little notes in the margins. Whatever, we all make mistakes, right?
