Girls in London book review!

Synopsis:

Girls in London by Kelsey Jade Higgins is about three best friends, Isla, India, and Beth, who live in London. All three girls have their own problems to sort through, but the main story focuses on Isla, who is in love with her ex-best friend, Jackson. The only problem? He's already engaged to be married to someone else. The other two deal with their own relationships and their own heartbreaks.

**I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review**

This seemed like a cute story about three girls and what goes on in their lives. Now, I'll be honest, I only looked up the synopsis on Goodreads, not Amazon. Going into it, I had no idea that this was an erotica novel, and because of that, was going to give it 2 stars. I thought all of the random sex scenes were very unnecessary ... until I looked it up on Amazon, where it's ranked under erotica.

So, overall: 3.5/5 stars.

My main interest in this novel was definitely Isla and Jackson. I HAD to know if they were going to end up together, and really enjoyed the back and forth and the build-up of their relationship. There were definitely some unnecessary and random scenes, like when Jackson's fiancee hires someone to beat up Isla because she's scared of losing Jackson. I felt like I couldn't exactly relate to any of the girls either, so I didn't exactly care what happened to them. This could be because I'm well over the age of 22, have only been with one man, and have never been one to go to parties and sleep with random strangers.

What I did like was the fact that Isla is a writer, and chooses to chase her dream of becoming a more well-known author. What I didn't like was the characters kept being introduced over and over as "the 22-year-old wannabe author" or "the 23-year-old midwifery student."

I also enjoyed Beth's story a little bit just because she's exploring who she is and what she wants out of life. And at the very bottom of the list, we have India's story. I didn't care for it very much because of how she was portrayed as the bad guy in a certain situation, and how everything played out afterward.

At the very end, I felt like everything was just wrapped up in the last chapter and I was left hanging a little bit. I feel like I still have questions and I'm curious about a few of the other characters. But I have to also remember that this is erotica (which I don't read a whole lot of) and not a YA Romance novel, so things won't be played out or built up as much - they just sort of get, well, right down to business.

Bottom line, if you enjoy reading erotica, give this book a try. The actual sex scenes were written well, and the author doesn't waste a lot of time getting to the point.
